Meet the Dyson Airstrait™ HT01, a revolutionary wet-to-dry hair straightener that dries and straightens your hair simultaneously using powerful, precisely controlled airflow — without traditional hot plates.

Designed to simplify your styling routine, the Dyson Airstrait™ takes hair from towel-dried to smooth, naturally straight and finished, using high-velocity airflow instead of clamping hot plates against the hair. The result is a naturally straight style with smoothness, shine, body and movement.

Unlike conventional straighteners that rely on extremely hot plates, the Airstrait™ uses high-pressure directional airflow to dry and align each section of hair while you style. 

🌬️ Wet-to-Dry Straightening With Air

The Dyson Airstrait™ is engineered to combine drying and straightening in one step.

Simply towel-dry your hair, pre-dry the roots, section your hair and guide the Airstrait™ through each section. Powerful airflow is directed downwards through the hair, helping to dry, stretch and align the strands simultaneously.

This means you can go from damp hair to a finished straight style with one machine, potentially simplifying your routine by eliminating the need to blow-dry first and then use a traditional flat iron. 

No Hot Plates

The Airstrait™ doesn’t use traditional heated styling plates.

Instead, two precision air apertures create high-velocity blades of air that are projected downwards at a 45° angle. This airflow creates the tension needed to stretch and align the hair as it dries.

Dyson designed the system to straighten hair using airflow rather than relying on extreme plate temperatures. 

💨 Powerful Dyson Hyperdymium™ Motor

At the heart of the Airstrait™ is a compact Dyson Hyperdymium™ motor.

The motor features a 13-blade impeller capable of spinning at up to 106,000 rpm, producing approximately 11.9 litres of air per second and up to 3.6 kPa of air pressure.

This concentrated airflow provides the power needed to dry and straighten hair simultaneously.

🌡️ Intelligent Heat Control

The Airstrait™ features Dyson’s Intelligent Heat Control system.

Glass-bead thermistors positioned within the arms monitor the temperature of the airflow up to 16 times per second, allowing the machine to regulate temperature and help prevent unnecessary extreme heat exposure.

This is designed to help preserve the hair’s natural shine and strength while styling. 

🔥 Wet Mode

Wet mode is designed specifically for taking hair from damp to dry and straight.

You can select from three preset temperatures:

• 80°C
• 110°C
• 140°C

The machine combines the selected temperature with controlled airflow to dry and straighten the hair simultaneously. 

☀️ Dry Mode

The Airstrait™ can also be used on already-dry hair for touch-ups, refreshing your style and smoothing sections.

Dry mode provides:

• 120°C
• 140°C
• Boost

This makes the Airstrait™ suitable not only for wet-to-dry styling, but also for refreshing your hairstyle throughout the day. 

❄️ Cold Shot / Cool Mode

A cool-air function allows you to finish your style with cool airflow, helping to set the finished look.

The machine also provides a dedicated root-drying function, giving you greater control when pre-drying and styling. 

🤍 Designed for a Natural Straight Finish

Rather than creating an extremely flat, pressed finish, the Airstrait™ is engineered to produce a natural-looking straight style with body and movement.

It can be used to create polished everyday straight styles while helping reduce the appearance of frizz and flyaways for a smooth, shiny finish. 

💎 Intelligent Airflow

The Airstrait™ intelligently adjusts its airflow during styling.

When hair isn’t positioned between the arms, the machine can automatically reduce to low airflow, helping make styling quieter and more efficient. 

📺 High-Definition LCD Display

The integrated LCD colour display provides information about the machine’s current settings, including airflow and temperature.

This allows you to easily see your selected styling mode and settings while using the machine. 

🔒 Locking Mechanism

The Airstrait™ features a sliding arm lock.

When locked, the arms can be used to gently pre-dry hair and help create volume from the roots before styling. Unlocking the arms allows you to use the machine in its standard straightening position. 

⏸️ Auto-Pause & Auto Standby

The Airstrait™ is designed with automatic safety and energy-saving functions.

When the machine is inactive, it can automatically pause the airflow. Dyson’s current product information states that it enters auto-standby after five minutes of inactivity when the arms are open, or three minutes when the arms are locked. 

🛡️ PRCD Safety Plug

Because the Airstrait™ is designed for powerful wet-to-dry styling, it comes with an integrated PRCD — Portable Residual Current Device.

This additional safety system is specifically designed for the appliance’s wet-to-dry functionality and helps protect against electrical current issues.

The PRCD plug measures approximately:

Dyson states that the PRCD is an integral part of the machine and can be carried in hand luggage when travelling, subject to applicable travel and electrical-voltage requirements. 

✈️ Travel & Voltage

The Dyson Airstrait™ is not a universal-voltage appliance.

It is engineered for the electrical voltage of the country in which it was purchased. If travelling internationally, the destination’s voltage must match the voltage for which your specific Airstrait™ was designed. A simple plug adapter does not convert voltage.

🧼 Maintenance

For optimum performance, Dyson recommends regular cleaning and maintenance.

The filter should be cleaned approximately once a month, with debris removed from the outer filter cage and inner filter mesh using a soft, dry cloth. Dyson also recommends cleaning the machine’s filter, tension bars and diffusers as required according to the care instructions.
